The Opponent ("we", "our", "us") is a sports matchmaking app operated by AppUX Spark. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our app.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
- Email address — for account creation and login
- Phone number (optional) — for account recovery
- Display name and nickname — shown to other players
- Profile photo (optional) — displayed on your profile
1.2 Location Data
- Precise location — used to find nearby players and show distance. Location is only collected when the app is in use and you have granted permission.
1.3 Gameplay Data
- Sport preferences — which sports you play (snooker, pool, badminton, tennis, table tennis, pickleball)
- Match history — wins, losses, ratings, and match results
- Avatar selection — your chosen in-app avatar
1.4 Financial Information
- UPI ID (optional) — for wallet payouts and match stakes. We do not store full bank account or card details.
- All payments are processed via Cashfree Payments.
1.5 Device and Usage Information
- Device type and operating system
- App usage patterns (screens viewed, features used)
- Crash reports and diagnostics (via Firebase)
2. How We Use Your Information
- App functionality — matching you with nearby opponents, displaying leaderboards, managing challenges
- Payments — processing wallet deposits and withdrawals via Cashfree Payments
- Personalisation — showing relevant players based on your sport, skill level, and location
- Communication — sending match notifications, challenge invites, and account updates
- Safety and integrity — preventing fraud, verifying match results, and maintaining fair play
- Analytics — understanding how the app is used to improve the experience
3. Payment Processing
All payments are processed by Cashfree Payments. We do not store your card numbers, bank account details, or UPI credentials on our servers. Cashfree's privacy policy applies to all payment transactions.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
We may share limited data with:
- Cashfree Payments — for processing wallet deposits and withdrawals
- Firebase (Google) — for authentication, database, analytics, and crash reporting
- Ad partners — anonymised data for displaying relevant ads (non-premium users only)
- Law enforcement — when required by law
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Match history is retained for leaderboard and rating calculations. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

7. Data Security
- Firebase Authentication with secure token management
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)

- PCI-DSS compliant payment infrastructure via Cashfree
8. Children's Privacy
The Opponent is not intended for children under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
